A+ Educators: October 2026

A+ Educator Award Recipients

At Lingo Networks, we're proud to recognize the educators who make a lasting difference in the lives of students throughout our communities. Each month, our A+ Educators program highlights outstanding teachers whose dedication, passion, and commitment help students learn, grow, and succeed.

Congratulations to our October 2026 honorees for the positive impact they make every day in Augusta County Schools.

Brandi Wolfe | Stump Elementary

“Our Elementary Teacher of the Month is Brandi Wolfe, who is the art teacher at Stump Elementary School.

Brandi Wolfe exemplifies excellence in art education through her belief in every student’s potential and her passion for creative growth. She designs engaging, hands-on learning experiences that build students' skills and confidence. A highlight of her approach is an annual, schoolwide project where every grade explores a shared theme, resulting in a vibrant display of artwork across the school that showcases our students' abilities. Her dedication and approach to instruction consistently elevates student work, leading to notable achievements such as placing in the top two for the Virginia School Board Association’s Region 5 Middle School art contest in two of the last three years.

Beyond her classroom, Mrs. Wolfe is a collaborative leader who works closely with colleagues across the Stump school community. From partnering with staff at Stump Elementary, to supporting the on-going growth and success of the SDMS and SDHS art programs, her efforts strengthen the arts for all of our students. Her passion, dedication, and spirit of collaboration make her an invaluable part of our schools and a truly deserving recipient of the Lingo Teacher of the Month award. Congratulations to Mrs. Wolfe!”

Kim Howerton | Wilson Middle

“Kim Howerton is our Middle School Teacher of the Month.

Ms. Howerton is the Intervention Specialist at Wilson Middle School and she exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated educator and student advocate. Kim was one of the first middle school Intervention Specialists and through her experience, leadership, and instructional expertise, she helped to define that role at the middle school level. She has continued to be a mentor and role model to her colleagues both at WMS and throughout the division. Through her compassion, patience, and unwavering commitment, she creates a supportive environment where students feel valued, encouraged, and empowered to grow. She consistently meets students where they are and works intentionally to help them build confidence and overcome challenges.

Mrs. Howerton’s collaboration with students, families, teachers, and staff makes a meaningful difference throughout our school community. She brings positivity, professionalism, and genuine care to everything she does, always keeping the individual needs and well-being of her students at the center of her work. We are grateful for Kim’s dedication, the relationships she builds, and the many ways she goes above and beyond for our students. Congratulations to Mrs. Howerton on this well-deserved recognition as Augusta County’s Middle School Teacher of the Month!”

Jennifer Anderson | Fort Defiance High

“The High School Teacher of the Month is Jennifer Anderson.

Mrs. Anderson is a Special Education Teacher at Fort Defiance High School. Jennifer is a dedicated teacher who truly cares about her students' success. She works hard to understand each student's needs and makes sure they feel supported and valued. In the classroom, she's organized, thoughtful, and builds strong relationships. Students want to do their best because they know she believes in them.

Beyond teaching, Jennifer is a wonderful team member. She collaborates with colleagues, mentors newer teachers, and is always looking for ways to improve and help others grow. She's also deeply involved in school life as a co-sponsor of SCA, where she puts tremendous effort into creating memorable experiences for the students at Fort Defiance.

What really stands out is Mrs. Anderson’s commitment to the entire school community. She's often one of the first to arrive and last to leave because she genuinely cares about making Fort Defiance High School the best it can be for everyone who’s there. She's a wonderful example of school pride and community spirit.”
