Help us celebrate these superstars!
Last year Lingo Networks, created an award program to highlight teachers and staff members at local schools that go above and beyond in their service to their students and colleagues. The A+ Educators Awards are our way of saying thank you to the teachers and staff that are making a difference. Each of the current winners will also receive a gift certificate to The Clocktower Restaurant in Staunton to celebrate their success!

AUGUSTA COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS A+ EDUCATOR AWARD WINNERS:
Elementary School Winner: Sarah Beck
Position: ACPS Early Childhood Instructional Coach
School: Augusta County Public Schools
Sarah Beck has a dynamic role in the Augusta County Early Childhood Program. She supports academics, behavior, and social/emotional needs while also helping to analyze and plan for program initiatives and improvements. Sarah also provides targeted professional development to teachers individually, in groups, and as a team to help Augusta County Preschool meet the highest quality benchmarks possible. Sarah’s decisions are always child-first, from the arrangement of classrooms to writing plans and puppet shows. The high expectations that Sarah Beck has for herself and others are a big part of the success of our program. Sarah is always learning, taking courses, reading the latest research, and pushing herself and our program to its full potential. She is intelligent, caring, and has a hilarious sense of humor!
Middle School Winner: Brandon Strosnider
Position: Agriculture Teacher
School: Wilson Middle School
Brandon is a valuable asset at Wilson Middle. Prior to working in ACPS, Brandon worked as a high school Ag teacher and brings considerable knowledge that helps prepare his students for high school. Brandon is all about the FFA and Ag education. He supports numerous events, volunteers in the community, and supports his students where they are. He even has FFA as part of his license plate!
Brandon works well with his students, dedicating time far beyond what is required. He has energized students to get excited about the things they are learning to the degree that they will read and study outside of class on their own just to understand the material better. At a recent competition, after being at school for many hours, the WMS students swept the awards, and even after a long day, Brandon mentored students and their parents so they could understand how they could have improved their performance that day. He creates a community with his students and serves as a positive and relatable role model who prepares them for a successful future.
High School Winner: Lisa Troxell
Position: Tech Education
School: Riverheads High School and Stuarts Draft High School
In her first year, Lisa Troxell has worked to rebuild the tech education programs at Riverheads and expand offerings at Stuarts Draft High School. Even though she is a career switcher and doesn’t have a formal Tech Ed background, she came willing to learn, collaborate and be student-focused. Her classes are engaging with numerous hands-on projects, working with materials that are inexpensive and readily available. Her positive attitude and desire to support her students as they all learn together have generated considerable student interest. Due to low enrollment at SDHS and no prior program at RHS, Lisa’s position was set up to be a split position between both schools. She has generated enough interest at both schools to justify full-time positions at both schools!
Congratulations to all of the A+ Educators award winners! We appreciate everything you do to make sure students in our community have an excellent education.
