You may be suprised to know this about managed services for business

We find ourselves wishing that people could see firsthand all the surprising things about managed services.

You’re running a business

there’s no room for surprises

It’s kind of the reverse of pulling back the curtain and seeing the small tiny wizard pulling all the levers in the Wizard of Oz.

Instead, people tend not to realize how much goes into a managed services project.

For instance, managed services is the glue behind a lot of services, whether it be internet, VOIP, or networking. Sometimes, we deal with pre-existing equipment, and\or specific configurations. Regardless, we piece them all together to get a coherent working product.

Behind the scenes, there’s a lot that goes on with managed services. For instance, networking is a big factor in VOIP phone systems and computer networking with servers.

If any of these pieces fail, it is our job to find out what is causing the problem, and if it can create a chain of problems. If the problem is multi-step, then we need to find out the root cause and remedy any issues. In short, these issues can either be isolated or chained based on an initial problem, and it’s up to us to use our knowledge in order to fix them.

Ultimately, managed services comes down to the cohesion of many systems into a singular system.

Knowing this, we are required to have knowledge of routing\switching, networking in general, and how things come together.

We are many things - systems administrators, network administrators, PC and system techs, and sometimes phone techs if a client uses VOIP services, either through a PBX or what is known as an analog telephone adapter, or ATA. We even do physical cabling or infrastructure work when needed.

What’s the biggest surprise about managed services, though?

It’s this…

For our customers, there are no surprises! We keep our clients informed, prepared, and protected as their managed services provider.
